Back when 2016 started I kept seeing new drugstore haul videos and these Matte Liquid Lipsticks from L’Oreal kept popping up. The colors looked amazing and having begun delving into the makeup world once again, I decided I wanted to try them out.
I visited every Walgreens in the vicinity and I had no luck finding them because lo and behold, everything here launches a lot later that in the mainland. GREAT *sigh* So I had to wait.
January came and went and still nowhere to be found, finally in February they were on display and up for grabs. I decided to go with an adventurous color and with a neutral.
Now let’s move onto the review:
I first got 310 and I decided to put it on one night and see what my husband thought of it. My first impression was that there is a certain tingly feeling when you first apply it. It is not too harsh but it is not too subtle either.
The applicator is very soft and easily manageable.
The color applies very evenly and has good coverage, leaning more toward the lipstick than gloss. It does not dry quickly and it does not become super matte. If you blot off the excess, it is matte or you can wait a while and it will matte down. It is very moisturizing, in contrast to the Maybelline Vivid Matte, which is a little more drying. It does transfer so that is a little annoying at times. I will not say it lasts all day long, but it does last a relatively good time on my lips even with transfer.
A few days after I began using 310 I got 318. I had never owned a nude lipstick so this was a new experience for me. Differently from the first one, this one did not have the tingly feeling when you first apply it.
The applicator is the same, and the formulation is also the same, aka it applies beautifully and evenly. I feel this one mattifies faster than 310 and transfers a little less. This one lasts the same as the other one.
The shade 318 has become one of my favorites at the moment, and I have been using it almost on the daily.
So there you have it. My little review of these relatively new liquid lipsticks from L’Oreal which I have been loving lately. I hope you enjoyed reading this and stay tuned for more reviews coming soon!
