Spring 2018 is here, sort of, and it seems that the camera bag trend is here to stay, for now. From my perspective, this trend began to rise in 2016. That was when the hype of the Gucci Soho Disco Bag exploded all over IG and the blogging world. Well, here we are in 2018 and the camera bag is still ever popular. Since not all of us can spit out thousands of dollars on a handbag, that is where DUPES come in. Previously, I shared my dupe finds for the Chanel Boy and the Chloe Drew. It is now time to share my dupes for the Gucci Marmont Camera bag.
Last year, I felt like Express was killing it in the dupe world, but recently ALDO seems to be heading the game. They have very well made handbags at a significant fraction of the cost of a designer handbag. Another benefit of this brand is that you can find their pieces from older collections at Marshalls or TJ Maxx. So when I was browsing their site for the spring collection of my Yellow Handbag, I saw they had a myriad of camera bags.
The first dupe if the Kaoedien from Aldo. What I love about Aldo bags is that they have really good craftsmanship. One thing I love about my Aldo bag is that it looks so much more expensive than it really is. Another is the fact that they put effort into making the details work with each design and make them seem of higher quality. When I first saw this bag I instantly thought of the Gucci Marmont Camera bag. The chevron details on the body of the piece are a dead giveaway for the inspiration of this bag. As a plus it comes with a metal chain, which also elevates and makes this bag feel more luxurious. A con is that it seems smaller than the original Marmont. You can find this bag on SALE now at Selfridges.
Another camera bag from them is the Reform. This one is a clear dupe/inspired by the Gucci Soho and other more rectangular camera bags. It comes in a variety of colors but my favorite was a beautiful lilac color, perfect for the spring season, and super on trend! Aside from the color, I love the shape of this bag. I find it so much more comfortable, roomy, versatile than the other camera bags. The faux leather of this bag is very similar to the Safianno leather from Michael Kors and Kate Spade bags. At the same price of $45 it is a very nice alternative if you want the look and feel yet don’t want to break the bank.
On the other hand, Express has also been killing it with their dupes and inspired handbags at unbeatable prices. I fell in love with their turnlock that duped the Chloe Drew, but decided against getting it because it won’t fit my essentials. While seeing this bag in store their Quilted Camera Bag caught my eye as a dupe for the Marmont Camera Bag from Gucci. It comes in a variety of colors and I love the chevron detail with the metal and leather chain. Just like in the Aldo bag, the craftsmanship on these bags is very good for the price. The faux leather feels of good quality and the hardware is shiny and even. A pro to this bag is that it seems bigger than the Aldo dupe, but taller and skinnier than the Marmont. A con to this bags is that it is a little above in price to the Aldo one, coming in at $49.90. It is still a great alternative if you want to get this style of bag.
There are many other camera bag style and dupes out there you just have to find the one that speaks the most to you. I have linked several styles from luxury brands and dupes in the widget below.
