First off: I want to apologize for the delay in posts/videos this week. I had a theorical exam on Monday and a practical one on Tuesday and I was running on very little sleep. In addition, I have another exam on Monday that comprises 5 chapters, so I have been catching up on sleep and studying.
Again thank you all for reading my blog, and following me on this really entertaining journey of self discovery. Thank you to those who sent in questions for today’s post and I was really happy to answer your questions. There were only a few so this will be a short post. Again thank you all and I love you guys J
- Tell me a little more about you.
Well I am a very unconventional person. I am 23, from Puerto Rico, in medical school and I got married in June 2015. I have been with my husband for 9 years, we have 2 fur babies, a dog and a cat named Bella and Pepe, respectively. I used to model back in middle and high school and I quit basically because I did not have support from my family, only my mom, and she couldn’t do everything alone.
I am a Harry Potter nerd and I love (used to love) reading young adult fiction novels that centered around supernatural themes (magic, witches, vampires, ghosts, warewolves, monsters, etc). I also used to write abstract/freestyle poetry. I say used to because in medical school there is little times for hobbies and I read so much for class/school I don’t really feel like taking a break from reading to read something else.
Ummmm, I don’t know what else to write, but if you think of anything, leave a comment and I will gladly answer it.
- What is your favorite beauty brand?
At the moment, I think I am completely in love with Too Faced products. I feel myself going a little crazy with it haha
3. What field/area of medicine do you want to focus on?
I don’t know for sure because usually you decide during 3rd year rotations. I have had experiences in different fields doing shadowing and research and I am inclined to go into Obstetrics and Gynecology. Not only has it been super interesting every single time, I enjoy reading and learning about women’s health and reproduction. So I usually tell people that I will most likely be going into Ob/Gyn.
4.What is your favorite thing about blogging?
That it is a place to call my own in the internet and that I get to be myself and detach from the reality around me. It is an escape from everything that I have to do or have to study. This is my zen, my spa, my yoga class, where I unwind and get some entertainment at the same time. In addition to that, I LOVE all the wonderful people I have met, and the ones I am sure I will meet in the future.
5. What is your favorite color?
I love blue in all its shades, but I especially love teal. Teal is my everything haha my iphone cover, macbook cover, office décor, etc are all teal and its shades.
6. How did you decide you wanted to study medicine?
I was always inclined to science. It was my favorite subject in school, and I was always watching Discovery Health shows with my mom (especially Babies Special Delivery and Birth Day). During the summers and with my friends I would always play doctor and deliver people’s babies (adorable mental image I know). In addition, whenever we were playing outside and someone fell and scratched their knees, I would run to my house, take peroxide, triple antibiotic and a bandage and clean people up. After the whole modeling thing my family was “pressuring” me to decide on a career alternate to modeling, one that would provide a stable job, etc. So during high school I got on track to apply for Biology and with medical school already in mind.
So that is it, thank you all so much for your questions and I hope to do another Q&A soon with more questions. Don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin’! <3
Thanks for reading
