Sorry for being MIA, I have had 7 exams in the last 3 weeks and I still have 3 more to go. But just one more week and I will most likely be back to a regular schedule, which will change but it will be better and easier to make it happen.
So as you all know from my previous post my birthday was a couple of days ago. Well I had decided that I was going to get myself the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette if I could find it. And lo and behold I found it when it launched in store at my local Sephora. I also indulged in an impulsive but necessary buy of a travel makeup bag and I got enough points to redeem a sample size product at checkout. Well I got the Glam Glow Gravity Mud Firming treatment.
Yesterday I had a pretty draining test and while watching my shows before sitting down to study for the one on Friday I decided to try it out.
From the GlamGlow website:
GRAVITYMUD™ is an Out of This World Innovative Peel Off Mud treatment that instantly leaves skin feeling firmer and more lifted. Mega-Targeted ingredients transform from White to Brilliant Chrome, delivering toned, sexy contours. Powered by TEAOXI™ Marshmallow + Licorice Leaf.
Well I took off my makeup and used toner and then water to cleanse my face, pat dried it and I was ready to try this baby out. My first thought was “WTF it’s white-silvery… I thought it was going to be muddy brown”. It is also very very thick and paste/glue like consistency. It says to apply generously in circular motion but this is actually kind of difficult to do because of how thick it actually is.
It applies silver to your skin and you end up looking like the tin-man. You have to leave it on for 20-30 minutes. During this wait time it starts to dry out and you actually begin to feel it tighten your skin (all I could think about was Tati and her love of firming products). With 5 minutes remaining I felt a lot of firmness going on but a little less than with the Origins Activated Charcoal Mask (review coming soon).
After about 25 minutes I felt it was completely dry and I was ready to peel it off.
Aaaaaaand that was awful… it is super hard to peel off and I ended up irritating my skin while trying to scrape off a corner to hold on to. I ended up having to wash it off with warm water. My skin did feel incredibly soft and firm after that and I put on a revitalizing serum from Origins afterwards.
I don’t know if maybe I did not put on enough product or if I did something wrong but it was definitely not a favorite for me. I much prefer the Origins Charcoal Mask.
So there you have it, a fun and short review of this cool product I got to sample and try out. I have heard a ton of amazing things about this brand so even though this one was a miss for me, I would be willing to a) try it out again and b) try other products from them.
What is your favorite face mask? What others would you recommend?
Thanks for reading!

I wanted to use my points to get this but my Sephora was out. I’d still like to try it! I like their clearing mask for spot treating acne. I just wish they weren’t so pricey!
It really is a personal preference and I like the end result a lot but the process was kind of tedious and I ended up irritating my skin. But I would recommend trying it if it’s your sort of thing
Good to know!
Great post and review! 🙂
