Right on Christmas day, and the day after most stores and retailers have their biggest sales of the year. This is also known as Boxing Day Sales. In my opinion, this is the best time of year to go shopping. You find some pretty sweet deals on most stores. You also get good use for the cash and gift cards you were given. Some of my favorite places to go are: Bath and Body Works, Aerie/American Eagle, Old Navy, Express, and Loft. This year I have decided to compile a guide of the best sales I can find out there, online or in-store. If you are still missing some gifts, check out my Last Minute Gifts post for some ideas perfect for any budget!
Savings and cash back
I have found some alternatives to maximize your shopping experience. There are sites where you exchange gift cards for cash, or buy discounted ones. Sites like Raise (you can use Ebates here for even more cash), Cardpool, CardCash, and Gift Card Granny give you this option. Ebates is another great option. They give you cash back when you make online purchases using their links or widget. They also give you coupons and special offers you can combine when checking out online. The best part is they are now having DOUBLE CASHBACK all week long! Do not miss this chance to make some money while you shop.
Speaking of coupons, getting through your email during this time of year can be challenging and exhausting. Using sites like RetailMeNot and Coupons also give you an advantage to have all of your coupons handy and organized. This way you can maximize your savings and get better deals when shopping.
Many retailers have their semi annual sales this time of year and this is a great chance to find most of their merchandise with good discounts. Bath and Body Works usually has an excessive variety of their candles at around $8-10. This is the perfect time to stock up on your favorites for the next few months. They also have many of their seasonal and signature scents at a great price. Best part is that if you have coupons you can get even more savings!
Nordstrom is also having their semi annual sale with 50% many items, plus FREE shipping and returns. The sale will go on from December 26 through January 2nd. I am hoping to score a pair of jeans or skinny black pants. Victoria’s Secret and Aerie also have theirs, and usually have tons of offers. As such this is the perfect moment to stock up on your favorite bras, undies, and sleepwear. Another great sale to shop is White House Black Market where they are having up to 60% off the entire store. I am lusting after a red leather jacket and their dresses under $100 are always a steal.
As for retailers that do not have semi annual sales, the majority still have a Boxing Day Sale. This is an event in which stores clear out their inventory to make room for early spring merchandise. Sometimes these events only include fall/winter items that did not sell. Other times, it features merchandise from the whole year, as well as classics that normally don’t go on sale. For this reason Boxing Day Sales are the perfect time to stock up on winter essentials, holiday or seasonal items, as well as those special classics that go on sale only this time of year. Shoes are also a great alternative during these sales. Festive shoes and good fall/winter boots can be expensive and during these after Christmas sales they go for amazing prices.
This year Old Navy will be having 75% off the entire store. This is great for winter gear and some every day essentials. I especially love their boxer shorts and long PJ pants. They also have some great deals for me including socks and t-shirts. ASOS is also having 50% entire store if you enjoy scoring good quality items for a great price. Honestly, I have never shopped at ASOS but I did see some items that called out to me and I may give them chance. If you are on the market for house items, Williams Sonoma is having a huge sale that will go on until February. They will feature different deals including All Clad, Calphalon, knives and more.
Other Stores Having Sales:
Many other stores are having boxing day sales. Saks is also having it’s designer sale where you can score designer items for up to 70% off! Some of the best deals are on Kate Spade, Tory Burch, and Rebecca Minkoff. I am on the hunt for a new card case/holder and I kind of want the Gucci Marmont in the new Emerald Green but probable something from Kate Spade or Tory Burch will have to do. If you are dying to get Stuart Weitzman boots or a pair of Jimmy Choos this is the best moment to get a great deal. Target is hosting a super sale on electronics, clearance, and this is where you will most likely get good deals on holiday decor and items.
